30 Days of Meditation: finding Headspace review

Headspace is a UK based meditation site & business I found last year. They just redid their site and it’s just cute and cool enough without falling into tweesville.

It includes guided meditations (free) in a day-by-day cadence - online and on apps. Since one of the partners is an ad guy, it’s probably no accident that embrace short attention spans. In 10 minutes, you get an tasting menu of guided exercises - a little body scan, a little freestyle, a little “it’s ok to think, just let it go” all with counting breaths and a nice UK accent.

Plus, there are pretty pictures.

“Tame the wild horse of your mind” - I think Buddha may have said it first, but I wouldn’t be surprised if most people would guess Jim Morrison. Either way, easier said than done.

Pros: Free, forgiving, good production quality, British accent - as usual - makes everything seem higher quality and taste

Cons: None yet.. maybe too Old Country Buffet of the mind. It’ll be interesting to see if later meditations are more focused.

Sometimes it really is just that simple and so am I. Not sure if it’s a lite soft rock intro to meditation so they are trying to be easy like a Sunday morning but if so, it succeeded.

I’ll be back on Finding Headspace tomorrow.
